Welding Materials in Each Process Section

Nickel-based alloy welding process

Nickel and nickel alloy welding electrodes are widely used and can be used for welding nickel and high nickel alloys, welding and surfacing of dissimilar metals
Need to pay attention when welding:
· Control the welding current: nickel and nickel alloys have poor thermal conductivity and are prone to overheating and grain growth. Use a smaller welding current, the electrode does not swing laterally, and the arc pit is filled at the end to maintain low temperature.
· Strictly control the impurity content: nickel is easily brittle by sulfur and lead to form thermal cracks, strictly control the sulfur and lead content of the electrode, and carefully clean up the surface of the base material. Oil, paint, dust, etc.
· Control the length of the arc: Nickel and nickel alloys are highly sensitive to pores during welding, and the electrode contains an appropriate amount of deoxidizer to control the length of the arc during operation.

General welding requirements for solid welding wire for nickel-based alloys

· Clean the surface of the base material: the grease, paint, lubricant, marker pen marks, etc. on the surface of the base material must be cleaned up.
· Control the amount of heat input: minimize the heat input, control the welding speed, and prevent slag clamping.
· Control the temperature between layers: The temperature between layers (channels) is best controlled below 100°C.
· Fill the arc pit: Fill the arc pit when the arc is closed to prevent cracks in the arc pit. If it occurs, it needs to be polished and then welded.
· Windproof measures: When the wind speed of outdoor welding is greater than 1.5m/s, windproof measures should be taken to prevent pores.
